Where is home? __Take a few #Moments to #Explore, #Watch, #Listen & #Share the beat of your OWN drum!
There is an old saying “Home is where the heart is”. With the release of Sasai App version 2.9.17 a week ago, we took a giant leap towards the realization of a vision I have been trying for a number of years… creating a #HOME FOR AFRICAN CONTENT. Now if you’re not in the industry you may ask, what exactly do I mean by “content”?
By content I mean an online “home” where African music, stories, podcasts, languages, photography, businesses, talents, thinkers, leaders, teachers, students, activists, preachers, entrepreneurs and pan-African interests of all kinds can be found in one place. And I mean the African diaspora as well as African Americans. It’s a little bit like when an entrepreneur in the USA has a TV channel called Black Entertainment Television… you know immediately that it’s for and by Black people.
__You yourself may not have been born on the continent, but if you have a heart for Africa, then we designed Sasai for you. It’s only been a few months and already it has the largest online library of African content anywhere!
Some of you may be new to the platform today, but most of you here know by now that our Sasai is Africa's first truly global all-in-one Super App. Just click to #Explore to find out what's new.
Today I'm just going to talk about the three platforms which we call @SASAI INTERACTIVE. The reason is simple: the content is mostly #Created by the users themselves.
# First up we have #SasaiMoments which is a Fast Follower of TikTok with its own twist.
# Next we have #SasaiWatch, a Fast Follow of YouTube, also with its own innovative spin. [In only three months we have more 15,000 videos with new ones now being posted in thousands daily].
# Finally, we have #SasaiPodcast which allows audio #Creators to share their stories, talents, wisdom, advice, sermons, the list goes on... It’s already the largest podcast platform in Africa in terms of total number of podcasts. I know a good number of you have been busy listening to #BusinessWars, Flip Africa and Masters of Scale, during the long lock downs. Well done.
As I have told you before, there's nothing wrong with Fast Following as long as you can add your own flare of #Innovation to give it its own uniqueness. (We have a few First Mover surprises to add in due course. Shhh!!)
If putting together an App was so simple there would be thousands of Apps out of Africa already, but it’s not easy at the moment for any number of reasons which I won’t bore you with. We also have a lot of naysayers who simply won’t believe that Africans can establish businesses in the tech space. (All of you here on this platform know better!)
Going from vision to execution, we had to dig deep to design, and to get people to write the Codes for such a complicated App. Then, with so much content coming in, we had to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI) engine to manage the vast library of uploads. This AI innovation is what we launched in the past few weeks!
If you haven't yet seen it… go ahead and update your App to Version 2.9.17, and #Watch what happens. It is still being fine-tuned but it is powerful.
On the eve of my 60th birthday next month, I hope I have provided leadership for something Africans will really be proud of and enjoy. For your homework, why don’t you study the "Explore Sasai" page of the App, as an entrepreneur, then tell me what OTHER businesses you can see. Both now and in the future...
"Older people sit down and say 'What is it?' but the boy [and girl!] asks, 'What can I DO with it?"
Steve Jobs.
What can YOU do with it? Let's talk.
End.

For the entrepreneurs here, I especially want you to study the new podcasts over the holidays. Soon we’ll be adding new sections especially “For Kids”. https://www.sasai.global
