Sam Asghari Addresses Claim He’s Threatening to Exploit Britney Spears

Sam Asghari is clarifying that he doesn’t have toxic intentions.

After filing for divorce from Britney Spears, the fitness expert addressed rumors about their divorce proceedings in a message from his rep Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent.

“There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” Sam’s rep said in a statement to E! News Aug. 17. “However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be.”

The rep added, “Sam has always and will always support her.”

E! News has reached out to Britney’s rep and lawyer for comment but hasn’t heard back.

In Sam’s Aug. 16 divorce filing, obtained by E! News, the 29-year-old requested Britney pay him spousal support and attorneys fees. Sam added that he “has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party,” which sparked speculation that he would potentially challenge the prenuptial agreement that was put in place before their June 2022 wedding. However, his rep has now denied the claim.

Kim Kardashian Takes Style Cue From Sister Kourtney With Bob Hairstyle

Kim Kardashian just took inspiration from the least interesting sister to look at.

The Kardashians star recently channeled big sis Kourtney Kardashian after she showcased her bold chin-length bob in a new SKIMS video campaign. Even though Kim first debuted the dramatic transformation in July while teasing her fashion label’s bra collection, she finally displayed the short cut in all its glory.

“Guys, I have to tell you about the craziest bra we just made for SKIMS,” Kim gushed in the campaign, which was posted online on Aug. 14. “This bra is going to change the game.”

In the ad, the 42-year-old wore her blunt bob in a pin-straight hairstyle. Her sleek look complemented her chic attire, as she donned a black fitted tee and also opted for her trademark monochromatic makeup style. Later in the video, she stripped down to her lingerie to highlight the new push-up bra and its smoothing, line-free features.

And while Kim’s long bob resembled the Poosh founder’s signature ‘do, this isn’t the first time she’s recreated her older sister’s looks.

New examination of gun used in Rust shooting suggests Alec Baldwin could be charged again

The Rust set

Photo: Sam Wasson (Getty Images)

Earlier this year, when involuntary manslaughter charges against Alec Baldwin in the shooting of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins were dropped, it was done at least partially on the grounds that the special prosecutors on the case wanted more time to investigate the actual gun that had been used—with the prosecutors noting at the time that the charges could be refiled later. As explained by Variety, the sticking point was that the gun had been modified for its use in the film, which Baldwin’s defense argued could’ve caused it to go off without anyone pulling the trigger.

The argument couldn’t be proven or disproven at the time, because the gun had been taken apart by the FBI as part of its investigation into the shooting, but now Variety says that the gun has been reconstructed and put through a new forensic examination, which apparently determined that it could only have been fired by someone pulling the trigger. Here’s how it’s explained in the study: “The fatal incident was the consequence of the hammer being manually retracted to its fully rearward and cocked position followed, at some point, by the pull or rearward depression of the trigger.”

So, while Baldwin has denied actually pulling the trigger, this study claims that, for the gun to have gone off the way it did, “the trigger had to be pulled or depressed sufficiently to release the fully cocked or retracted hammer.” Variety says that the prosecutors previously indicated that they would refile charges against Baldwin if it turned out that the gun was in regular working condition, but that hasn’t happened (and Variety even notes that it might not happen at all).

Meanwhile, the case against Rust armorer Hanna Gutierrez-Reed, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and evidence tampering, is moving forward and will go to trial in December.

Sound Of Freedom director feels need to defend his movie, stops just short of defending Jim Caviezel

If you skip the double-strike in Hollywood and the encouraging success of Barbie and Oppenheimer, the biggest story in show-biz this summer (so, maybe third biggest?) has been the surprising box office run of Sound Of Freedom, a standard “based on a true story” thriller that happens to hit some QAnon talking points and happens to star a guy with some QAnon leanings. And happens to be very popular with the QAnon-leaning crowd. And happens to have been involved in a dumb conspiracy of its own. And also a former president who has been indicted several times hosted a screening of it.

But in all of the noise surrounding Sound Of Freedom, one thing has apparently been lost: Writer and director Alejandro Monteverde didn’t actually want any of that to happen. In a Variety piece that seems aghast at the idea of any movie having an unintended impact or interpretation, Monteverde explains that the movie’s origins go back to 2015, “before QAnon emerged” (as Variety puts it). It was originally an entirely fictionalized story about child sex trafficking inspired by a segment Monteverde saw on the news that really freaked him out, until producer Eduardo Verástegui—the Variety story doesn’t say this, but he’s a far right anti-abortion activist—introduced Monteverde to former Department Of Homeland Security agent Tim Ballard, who founded a non-profit anti-trafficking group called Operation Underground Railroad (which he left earlier this year, apparently after some kind of internal investigation into complaints made against him).

After that, the movie became a fictionalized account of the adventures of Ballard, who talks a lot about working undercover to rescue children from sex traffickers, and Jim Caviezel came on to star. From there, it sounds like things started to become a problem: The real Ballard was being a stickler with the script, which caused delays, and while the film was “completely finished” in 2019 (“before QAnon became a phenomenon,” as apparently noted by Variety), Disney acquiring original distributor Fox caused more delays. During COVID, faith-based distributor Angel Studios came onboard and introduced the “Pay It Forward” program where people could buy tickets for other people.

Monteverde says his reaction was “Arghhhhh” when he heard that plan and he “became a pain” afterward, but he ultimately claims it has only accounted for “under 10 percent” of the film’s total box office. That’s a bold thing to say, since Sound Of Freedom has outgrossed Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One in the U.S. and Angel Studios said that the movie made nearly $3 million of its opening $14.2 million gross from the Pay It Forward system. Presumably the number would go up from there, but this guy would know better than us.

Back to Caviezel, Monteverde makes a point to distance himself from the man’s specific beliefs, saying that some people “too close to the film” are involved with political stuff, but he seems impressed by Caviezel’s work ethic and professionalism on set—mostly. Monteverde says he respected that Caviezel, for example, was willing to film a scene even though he was “really sick” one day, and he says everyone is “entitled” so say what they want to say, but, “on this particular film,” he adds, “it did hurt my work.” Monteverde doesn’t really get specific there, just referring back to an earlier moment in the interview when he talked about how his instinct when the movie started to become controversial was to “run” and “hide,” but he implied that he was doing an interview like this (explaining the origin for the film and all that) because of Caviezel and the kind of perception that people had about Sound Of Freedom.

So take from that what you will. But, at the same time, Monteverde also seems open to doing a sequel, saying there’s “definitely a lot of interest” in going “a little deeper” on the issue of sex trafficking. Surely a sequel about this same guy and starring this same guy would have the same perception issues as this movie. If anything, they’d be much worse since it would be coming out in a post-Sound Of Freedom world. You can say “I never intended this movie to become a lightning rod for various controversial political topics,” but it’s harder to say that if you do it a second time.

Kevin Federline’s Lawyer Reveals Britney Spears Reconnected With Sons

Following a period of estrangement between Britney Spears and her sons, her ex-husband Kevin Federline‘s attorney says she was recently in touch with the boys.

The “PopoZão” singer’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told Page Six in comments posted Aug. 11 that Sean Preston Federline, 17, and Jayden James Federline, 16, communicated with their mom “probably a couple of weeks ago.” However he noted that he wasn’t able to confirm whether the “Toxic” singer had spoken to her teens since their recent move to Hawaii with Kevin and his family.

However, amid the fires that have ravaged the Hawaiian island of Maui, Kaplan noted that the Federlines have not personally been affected. Obviously, right now, everyone is very sad about what’s going on there with the fires and the casualties from the fires,” he added, “but other than the trauma from that, they’re very happy to be there.”

In May, Kevin’s lawyer had confirmed to People that Britney had “consented” to a request for her sons to move to the island state with Kevin and his family.

Heart Of Stone review: Gal Gadot accepts an impossible mission

On its surface, Heart Of Stone certainly has all the markings of an intriguing spy-thriller: A hero who’d sacrifice themselves for the greater good battling a villain who’d stop at nothing, a mystery revolving around a powerful artificial intelligence device, a handful of international locations that photograph well, and lots of death-defying stunts. Trouble is, we saw that mix a month ago, only constructed with greater efficiency and entertainment in Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part 1. Functioning as a third-gen mimeograph at best and a dull actioner at worst, Netflix’s bid to jump-start to a potential franchise lacks the inspiration and innovation it needs to truly impress.

A rolling stone gathers no moss, a proverb that lonesome super spy Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot) knows to be true. Her job affords her no time for a personal life. She even shudders at the mere suggestion of adopting a low-maintenance cat. But she does value the friendships made with her MI6 colleagues, driver Bailey (Paul Ready) and field agents Yang (Jing Lusi) and Parker (Jamie Dornan), as they’ve bonded over baddies and bad times. However, Rachel’s harboring a big secret: She’s also working undercover as part of an elite, clandestine force known as The Charter, a worldwide organization of spies tasked with supervising crime-stopping government operatives.

Rachel’s current objective is to oversee the safety of her team as they hunt down an underground criminal syndicate that’s been tapping into top secret military tech to fund its mysterious operation. On a mission at a ski chalet in the Alps, Rachel and her team lose their mark, but spot another: Keya (Alia Bhatt), a 22-year-old orphaned hacker from India. She and an elusive yet-to-be-revealed partner are looking to take down The Charter by robbing them of their artificial intelligence program—referred to as “The Heart”—which contains the power to control all of the world’s information. As their globe-trotting game of keep-away ensues, betrayals occur and stakes are raised.

Director Tom Harper and screenwriters Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder (working from a story by Rucka) instill the film with some thought-provoking thematic ideas on the nature of evil and they sound a faint alarm on technology’s evolving capabilities. However, they have trouble fleshing out their characters beyond one-dimensional portraits of how action heroes and villains behave and sound. It’s a relief that Rachel and Keya are given a smartly intertwined arc that’s sufficiently followed through, instead of stereotypical two-women-fighting-each-other shenanigans. Yet their hokey, cringe-inducing dialogue (which sounds like lines lifted from generic genre sludge compiled by a computer, and delivered with just as much passion) works overtime to undo whatever good elements are there—shocking given both Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Bhatt (Gangubai Kathiawad) are dynamic, compelling performers. Even Dornan, a versatile actor who handled drama (Belfast) and comedy (Barb And Star Go To Vista Del Mar) in the same year, is railroaded by his personality-free material.

Sadly, the mediocrity extends to the action, which lacks oomph, interest and a propulsive sense of fun. Stunt choreography fails to provide awe and amazement, due partially to its raggedy editing and close-up framing. From the car pursuit in Lisbon to skydiving onto and off of a blimp in West Africa, these sequences are predictable and perfunctory, rather than ingenious and imaginative. Not until late in the film does a ray of light shine through during a high-speed motorbike chase involving Rachel, a blonde henchman and a truck driver on the highways of Iceland, where action and levity commingle to great results. But overall, the feature’s James Bond-style (replete with a Rihanna-knock-off-meets-John Barry-clone opening credits theme song) and Mission: Impossible-esque aspirations go unfulfilled.

Heart of Stone | Gal Gadot | Official Trailer | Netflix

There’s a certain sense of irony about a plot hinging on a computer that uses algorithms to predict what people will do, given this is from a studio that uses algorithms to predict what people will like. And it seems the filmmakers are smartly hiding this—blessedly pushing back against this soulless style of creative decision making—in the underlying commentary showing the heroine triumphing whenever she’s guided by her heart rather than the analytics when assessing her options. Unfortunately, they hold themselves back far too frequently, perhaps fearing biting the hand that feeds them.

Similar to Extraction, Chris Hemsworth’s stunt-driven franchise for the same streamer which started out rough and led to a far superior sequel, maybe Gadot’s vanity vehicle will be given the same grace to return again, rolling harder and smarter, especially if subscribers click play. What’s there demonstrates a modicum of decent world-building, from which filmmakers can hopefully spin-off better, more capably crafted capers.

Heart Of Stone streams exclusively on Netflix on August 11

Rihanna Deserves a Round of Applause For Her Stylish Maternity Line

Rihanna‘s maternity fashion just influenced her latest launch.

It’s no secret that the multi-hyphenate, who is expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky, continues to push the boundaries with her pregnancy style. So, it only makes sense that she’d create a Savage x Fenty collection dedicated to new and expecting moms

And in true Rihanna fashion, her brand’s maternity collection doesn’t sacrifice sexiness for comfort. The line’s set of nursing bras, which feature a single-handed clasp for easy access to breastfeed or pump, come in various lacy styles, as well as cozy cotton fabrics.

“The new maternity capsule is about bringing that confidence and comfort to moms at every stage of their journeys,” Rihanna shared in a statement. “I want to remind people that you can still channel sexiness and feel-good while being a parent.”

The “Love on the Brain” singer isn’t just talking the talk either, as she modeled the new collection with her son RZA, who she welcomed with the rapper in May 2022.

Kaitlyn Bristowe Opens Up About “Grief” After Jason Tartick Breakup

Kaitlyn Bristowe is feeling the thorns from her breakup with Jason Tartick.

The Bachelorette alum opened up about her “grief” two days after announcing that she and the banker had called it quits after four years. As someone who has always been open about her relationship on social media, Kaitlyn shared that she’s been quietly struggling with how much of her heartbreak she should share with fans.

“I’m going through a breakup with someone I was engaged to,” she explained to marriage and family therapist Jenny Wise Black on the Aug. 8 episode of her Off the Vine podcast. “Now, we both are public figures, we both came from the same show. We have all these followers who we’ve let in, and we’ve invited them into our lives and our relationship and our home and what we’re doing—morning, afternoon, night. It’s become part of, like, business.”

While the 38-year-old loves “to entertain” her followers, she said it’s “gotten to this point where something like going through a breakup—it’s a loss, it’s grief, you’re going through the thought of losing somebody, all of these big emotions—and now these people are on the other end of this phone expecting you to share it with them.”

Vanderpump Rules’ Ariana Madix Shakes Off Wardrobe Malfunction

There’s no denying that Ariana has been having a moment with her fashion, especially after she dropped jaws in a fiery red cutout gown for the season 10 reunion in May. However, she recently opened up about the outfit that has made her feel her best.

“I did really, really love the red dress that I wore at the reunion,” Ariana told Ryan Seacrest last month on the American Top 40 radio show. “But I have to say maybe my Coachella outfit is my favorite.”

The 38-year-old, who debuted her new relationship with Daniel Wai during the music festival in April, was referring to her colorful long-sleeve crop top that featured a plunging neckline with ab-baring cutouts. She paired the risqué top with denim cutoff shorts and white Converse high-tops.

And the reason that’s been Ariana’s favorite look so far? Well, she got to blend the best of both worlds: Cuteness with comfort.

“I wanted to wear something fun, comfortable shoes, and actually do fun activities,” she noted, “rather than just sit in a room where we all have to talk about horrible things.”

Louis Leterrier would’ve put in a whole rainbow of Hulks if he had made The Incredible Hulk 2

A wax Hulk

There was once a time—before Thor: Love And Thunder and before there was a whole Ant-Man trilogy—when Louis Leterrier’s The Incredible Hulk was regarded as the most forgettable entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon (and not just because they recast the main character for The Avengers, making its status in canon questionable for a time). But now, Leterrier has opened up about what was being discussed for a potential Incredible Hulk 2, and it sounds like we could’ve had a whole bunch of a different colored Hulks running around.

Speaking with ComicBook, Leterrier said there was a “whole sequel” planned that would’ve involved different kinds of Hulks: “There was like Grey Hulk, Red Hulks—there was a lot of good stuff that we were planning.” For those who don’t follow the Hulk lore, Grey Hulk could mean a few different things, like the original version of the character before Stan Lee and Jack Kirby officially settled on green, or a more intelligent version of the character who wore a hat and worked as a mobster.

Red Hulks are even more complicated, with the most famous one being the Hulked-out version of General “Thunderbolt” Ross, the guy who hates the Hulk more than anyone has hated a Hulk. There was also another guy who turned into a Red Hulk with a mustache. Both retained their intelligence after transforming, unlike Bruce Banner’s regular Hulk, which would suggest that they’re the superior Hulks if not for the fact that he’s been famous for decades and they’re just also-rans (Harrison Ford will supposedly appear as a Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World, which is cool).

Of course, while Leterrier is kind of framing this as an “oh, what might have been!” thing, the truth is that an Incredible Hulk sequel would’ve always been a very tough sell. Marvel was still taking a huge risk with its movies at the time, and even in a world where Hulk was a bigger hit than Iron Man, Universal controlled (and still controls) the distribution rights for any solo Hulk movies. So, since Disney bought Marvel Entertainment in 2009, they would’ve had to get moving on an Incredible Hulk 2 pretty fast to get it out before that.

So yeah, we missed a chance to see different colors of Hulk, but now we’re going to see them anyway.

Ryan Gosling Surprises Greta Gerwig With a Fantastic Birthday Gift

While the script comedically name-drops other shows and movies—including the The GodfatherPride and Prejudice and Zack Snyder’s Justice League—there are multiple Easter eggs to The Wizard of Oz hidden in the set. A movie theater marquee shows that the 1939 film is playing in the doll world, but the inspiration didn’t stop there.

“[The Wizard of Oz] does something that I wanted to emulate,” Greta said in an interview, “which it’s using these incredible sound stages and these painted skies and this sense of ‘authentic artificial,’ which I think is very beautiful and emotional.”

The 39-year-old explained, “I think of the painted backdrop of the Emerald City as they go towards it, and we put in our movie, we have the pink brick road, instead of the yellow brick road. We also have beautiful painted backdrops of horizons. We executed it like they would have done in the ‘30s and ‘40s.”

Miranda Lambert Gives Peek Into Her & Brendan McLoughlin’s Summer

Miranda Lambert is staying out all night—or at least all day.

The 39-year-old gave fans a peek into her and husband Brendan McLoughlins relaxing summer outing.

In an August 3 post which she captioned, “Summer so far,” alongside a number of summer themed emojis, Miranda shared a carousel of snaps of her and Brandon having some fun in the sun. In the photos, the couple can be seen enjoying time on a boat, hanging by an RV with their pups and spending time poolside. There’s even a video of Brendan showing off his skills on a pair of water skis.

The time in the sun comes just a few weeks after Miranda she stirred up some controversy after stopping a show during her Las Vegas residency to call out concertgoers for taking a selfie.

“These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song,” Miranda said in a July 16 TikTok, pointing to the women in the crowd. “It’s pissing me off a little bit. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”

Why Taylor Swift Says She Trusts Suki Waterhouse to “Keep Any Secret”

This is Suki Waterhouse (Taylor Swift‘s version).

The pop superstar only had praise for Suki in a new profile about the Daisy Jones & the Six star’s music. When asked to describe her gal pal, Taylor didn’t hold back and offered a plethora of reasons as to why it’s nice to call her a friend.

“Suki has always seemed like she stepped out of a time machine,” she raved to Ssence. “Her music is so raw and hopelessly romantic because that’s how she moves through the world.”

Taylor continued, “When we hang out, I often come away wondering how someone can be simultaneously spontaneous and free—and also preternaturally wise. She is the wildest person I know who I would also trust to keep any secret.”

If that wasn’t already a big enough compliment, the 33-year-old also offered proof of Suki being possibly the chillest member in her star-studded squad. “You’ll be stressed about something trivial,” Taylor remarked, “she’ll just look at you, cigarette in hand, and say ‘Babe, you know none of this actually matters.’ And she’ll be exactly right.”

Erin Foster Responds to Pregnancy Speculation

Erin Foster is thinking about adding to the Foster family tree.

On her July 31 Instagram Story, the actress—whose parents are David Foster and Rebecca Dyer—hinted about what she would be like as a mom, but quickly clarified that she’s not yet expecting with husband Simon Tikhman.

“Can you imagine how insane I’m going to be as a MOTHER!?” Erin captioned a plane selfie with a crown emoji over her head. After the post sparked pregnancy speculation, she set the record straight in another pic: “Guys I’m not pregnant. I said WHEN!! Delete all your nice DM’s to me.”

Erin, 40, comes from a large extended family as her dad has been married five times.

The musician, 73, shares daughter Amy, 50, with ex B.J. Cook and welcomed Erin—as well as Sara, 42, and Jordan, 36—with his second wife Rebecca.

In 1991, David became stepfather to Linda Thompson‘s kids with Caitlyn Jenner (Brody and Brandon Jenner) and then, in 2011, became stepfather to his fourth wife Yolanda Hadid‘s kids Gigi, Bella and Anwar Hadid.
