Marvel Studios has officially unveiled several major cast members for its highly anticipated X-Men movie, giving fans their first major look at the new generation of mutants who will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The announcements were made Friday at Disney's D23 event in Anaheim, where Marvel confirmed Christopher Abbott, Adam Driver, Inde Navarrette and Maya Boyd for the upcoming superhero film.

Christopher Abbott Will Play Professor X
Christopher Abbott has been cast as Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X, the
telepathic mutant who founded and leads the X-Men.Professor X is one of Marvel's most recognizable characters and has been a central figure in the X-Men mythology since his first appearance in the comics in 1963.
Abbott takes over the role following acclaimed performances by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy in previous X-Men film franchises.
Stewart is also expected to reprise his version of Professor X in Avengers: Doomsday, meaning Marvel's multiverse storyline could potentially feature multiple versions of the iconic character.
Abbott was most recently seen in The Testament of Ann Lee and is also set to appear in Netflix's upcoming East of Eden series alongside Florence Pugh.
Adam Driver Joins the X-Men as Magneto
One of the biggest surprises at D23 was the announcement of Adam Driver.
Driver initially announced that he would be playing Magneto, before jokingly correcting himself and revealing the name Nathaniel Milbury.
The announcement immediately sparked speculation among Marvel fans about how the character's identity and story will be handled in the new film.
Magneto has traditionally been one of the X-Men's most powerful and complex characters, frequently portrayed as both an adversary and reluctant ally of Professor X.

Inde Navarrette Cast as Rogue
Obsession breakout Inde Navarrette has been cast as Rogue.
Rogue is one of the most popular members of the X-Men and is known for her ability to absorb another person's powers, memories and abilities through physical contact.
The character previously appeared in Fox's X-Men franchise, where she was played by Anna Paquin.
Navarrette's casting suggests that Marvel is building a new interpretation of the classic X-Men lineup for the MCU.
Maya Boyd Will Play Storm
Maya Boyd has also joined the cast as Storm, one of the most powerful mutants in the X-Men universe.
Storm possesses the ability to manipulate weather and has historically served as one of the team's strongest leaders.
The character was previously portrayed by Halle Berry in the original X-Men film series and by Alexandra Shipp in the later prequel movies.
