HOW TO FIND OUT IF YOUR BOOK IDEA WILL SELL
It's sometimes a hitch trying to figure out the best way to validate your idea. Just know this from today, its not all idea you have in your head that would be good enough to write a book on it. Many authors have fallen prey to this as they end up writing a book that wouldn't sell in the market. An idea might be beautiful enough in your head but won't sell when you write a book on it
The best goal you can ever have as an author is to see yourself building influence and authority while making money from the sales of your book.
In this post, I will explain to you the THREE ways to validate your book idea and know how profitable it could be.
What specific problem is that book of yours going to solve? This should be the first question you ask yourself. That idea you have, is there any perceived problem it could bring a solution to? Look inwardly in your niche to find out what problem is in existence there. Writing a book to be a solution to people would be of great help. People love to buy a book that solves their problems.
You can make a post asking people what they think about the idea. You can as well make this in form of a poll where you deliberately list options and ask people to select them. Watch out to see if they would vote on that idea you have in mind to write. If you are just going to make a post, ask them specifically what they think if you are to work on that given idea. You wait to hear people's reactions in the comment section.
Carry that idea to Google, YouTube and Amazon. Type it and see what number of contents would pop up. To illustrate, if you wish to write a book on personal branding, just type "personal branding" or "what is personal branding" and see the number of content that would pop up. From there you can also see other things talked about on personal branding.
To search Amazon, still carry that idea of yours and find out if there are books already published on it. For instance, if you wish to write about content marketing, go to Amazon and type the keyword "content marketing" to see if such books exist. If you search and see related content and books on that idea of yours, it simply means it's a viable one but if not it could mean that there is no market for that idea or it's still a fresh market yet to be tapped.
There are still other ways to research your book idea but for the moment let's stop at this. Choosing to be an author is such an adorable and professional path and this is where you should get the right things fixed before you dive into that book project.
