Be careful what you copy off social media and how you implement them
My ad copy was FIRE. I remember showing the ad copy (video) to my Direct Responce coach and he kept shouting Wow!
Then when he saw the website (Landing pages) I created, he kept asking to be VERY SURE I created all those landing pages myself.
LOL!
just LOL.
He told me: Girl you are on FIRE.
Anyway, back to my gist...
In about 24hours of that PPE campaign, I got my first sale and this was still just an engagement campaign and not for conversion.
That one sale covered everything I had spent on the ad and still left me some profit.
The second day, I kicked off the conversion campaign and it was doing well averagely too.
The 1st and 2nd day into the conversion campaign, I would always make 3X my ad budget before 10am.
Then the copy copy mentality entered.
I read something on one of my coaches timeline where he said he made XYZ amount in X days running on a 5dollar campaign budget.
Gbam!!!!
I thought to myself, if he could do it with 5dollars, then why can't I .
Why spend more money 💵
So I went to edit my campaign and set it at 5 dollars and I also kicked off another campaign spreading out my entire budget into 5dollars campaigns.
This was the 3rd day.
9am passed... Crickets 🦗
12pm passed... Nothing yet
2pm.. Now I was getting worried.
In case I forgot to mention, I am actively employed and work had been so hectic that I barely have time to look at my ads or anything till I leave work by 4pm.
Usually, for these first 3 days, all I did was do my work while my ad converts and my already set business on automation onboards the people who pay into the course.
I don't have to bother about anything. If there's any special case, it'd have to wait till 4pm.
This is the beauty of an automated business system.
Back to my gist, I got some breathing space at work and decided to do some research on the results I was getting.
That was when I saw it.
Times are ever changing.
The way a 5dollar ad converted in 2018, 2019 and 2020 is totally different.
I was copying something that worked for my coach in 2018.
2018!!!
2 friggin years ago.
What the hell was wrong with me?
I already had a good ad, my budget was working well and making back 3x what I put in.
My email list was growing like bread with excess yeast.
Why the hell did I now decide to change it?
Then it hit me,
We are oftentimes more concentrated on other people's results rather than ours.
We are always on the lookout for the next big idea without properly utilizing the one we have at hand.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH US.
There's more to what you see on social media.
In fact you are only seeing just what they want you to see.
Enough of the copying
Do your own homework, try that idea out and watch it fail till it succeeds.
Make your previous experiences your future standard for failure.
Learn while you are at it.
Quit looking for the next big thing for your business, instead pay attention to what is currently happening in your business.
This will take you off the copy copy street.
Let he who has ears hear.
