Noun Warri : An Open Letter To Political Leaders/Office Holders In Warri For Kick-Off Assistance

PRESS STATEMENT

AN OPEN LETTER TO POLITICAL LEADERS AND PUBLIC OFFICE HOLDERS IN WARRI: SOLICITATION FOR ASSISTANCE TOWARDS THE KICK -OFF OF THE PROPOSE WARRI STUDY CENTER OF THE NATIONAL OPEN UNiVERSITY OF NIGERIA (NOUN)

H.E Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan,

Senator James Manager,

Senator Daisy Danjuma,

Hon Chief Thomas Ereyitomi,

Dr Michael Tidi,

Hon Austin Uroye,

Hon Mathew Poku Opuoru,

Hon Vincent Oyibode,

Hon Griftson Omatsuli,

Hon Daniel Mayuku,

Dr Joseph Otumara.

Gentlemen,

As a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, we write to solicit for your assistance towards the kickoff of the propose Warri Study Center of The National Open University of Nigeria.

Delta State has 3 functional Study Centres, at Asaba, Emevor and Owhrode. Unfortunately, the city of Warri is yet to have a Study Centre, hence this Steering Committee is coordinating all the activities geared toward the realisation of a Warri Study Center of the NOUN. Presently, we are seeking to meet up with the updated NOUN Requirements for establishing Community Study Centers.

A property has been acquired by the Delta State Government (during the administration of H.E Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan)for this very purpose and furnished. Twenty two (22) additional computers and accessories have also been bought for this project by a private donor. However, we still need to provide the following ;

(1) We need to purchase a minimum of 40 more computers with accessories, (eg computer desks and chairs, UPS, etc.)as we presently have 40 computers in the Center.

(2) We need to purchase standard furniture for both staff and students. The ones provided by the Delta State Government, years ago, are no longer fit for the intended purpose.

(3) We need to purchase a standard generator set for the facility.

(4) We need to carry out intensive maintenance work on the property.

We have made arrangements with public educational institutions to seek and be granted access to their science laboratories, for use by the Study Center and the results are positive.

We are in collaboration with a Professor Joseph Anireju LORI of Bingham University, Abuja, (joseph.lori@binghamuni.edu.ng) who is ready to contribute his quota towards the facilitation of this project.

We shall acknowledge and appreciate whatever assistance you may choose to graciously provide.

The facility is open for your inspection every work day from 10 a.m to 3p.m.

As we look forward to your generous assistance, we seize this opportunity to appreciate H.E. Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, former Governor of Delta State, for all that you have done for this project, and for more assistance that we seek from you. We also want to appreciate Senator Daisy Danjuma for your assistance.

Thank you.

Is there still any justification for Niger Deltans to lament over Marginalization? Ezekiel Kagbala

Is there still any justification for Niger Delta People to lament over Marginalisation?

In the face of terrible administrative imbalance born out of corruption that has obliterated the Developmental future of the region Who is to blame?

AT least N1.534 trillion has been received by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) since its inception in 2001.

This amount was allocated to the NDDC for expenditures on projects to reverse the huge infrastructural deficit in the nine Niger Delta states as a result of decades of government’s neglect and environmental degradation by oil exploration companies. However, the development crises that impact the oil-rich region with an estimated population of 46.8 million people remain unresolved. Expectedly, concerns are growing about the utilisation of the funds accrued to the Commission over the years.

10-Year Revenue of N1.413 trillion from 2007-2016

Two reports by the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) covering a period of 10 years have revealed that the Commission received a total of N1.413 trillion. The Fiscal Allocation and Statutory Disbursement (FASD) documents reveal that the Commission received a sum of 593.96 billion naira from mineral and non-mineral sources from 2007 to 2011, and also received 819.81 billion naira between 2012 to 2016. These, ten years (2007-2016) summed up to N1,413.77 billion (or N1.413 trillion).

10-Year Expenditure of N3.03 trillion from 2007-2016

For expenditure in the same 10-year period, the reported value is N961.94 billion from 2007-2011, in addition to N932.632 billion and $6.107 billion spent between 2012 to 2016. For the latter 5-year period, the 6.107 billion expenditure in US dollars was converted to Naira at a conservative average of N186/$1 for the 5-year period. This gave a Naira exchange value of N1,136 billion, which was added to the N932,632 billion reported, to arrive at the N2,068 billion for the period of 2012 to 2016. Hence, DATAPHYTE’s conservative estimate for the total expenditure for the ten years is computed to be N3,030.57 billion (or N3.03 trillion).

10-Year Expenditure surpasses Revenue in the same period (2007-2016)

Following this computation, we tried to calculate the difference between revenue and expenditure for the 10 year period, we got a negative difference of N1,616.80 billion (i.e N3030.57 billion minus N1413.77 billion). This is shown below:

Period Revenue (N’Bn) Expenditure (N’Bn) Source

2001 – 2004 121.05       ?? NDRMP

2007 – 2011 593.96 961.94 FASD

2012 – 2016 819.81 2,068.63 FASD

Total (2007 to 2016) 1,413.77 3,030.57

Total (2001 to 2016) less 2005-2006 1,534.823

It is also surprising to find out from the recently constituted interim management of the Commission that the pending NDDC Interim Payment Certificates are worth over N3 trillion. That is, “what the NDDC owes these phantom contractors”.

This suggests one of two things: that NDDC is deliberately running a deficit budget OR the Commission has not done full disclosure of its revenue to NEITI auditors and the undisclosed amount is over 3 trillion naira. The latter seems more plausible considering a PREMIUM TIMES report that Igo Weli, the General Manager of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) disclosed his company and its partners have remitted about $2 billion to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in 16 years. If only SPDC remitted about $2 billion, there is a high potential, ten of billions of dollars have accrued to NDDC from the remittances of other big oil and gas companies institutions.

Revenue from Inception in 2001 to 2016 (less 2005 and 2006)

In accounting for the NDDC’s revenue from inception in 2001, there were six years of revenue (2001-2006) that were not captured in the 2007-2011 FASD report. However, DATAPHYTE found a revenue of N121.05 billion that the Commission received between 2001 – 2004. The data as reported in Chapter 6 of the Niger Delta Regional Development Master Plan (NDRMP) showed that NDDC received a total of $1billion ($1,000,768,000) between 2001 and 2004. At a moderate average exchange rate put at N120/$1 during the period, this amounts to N121.05 billion as accrued revenue between 2001 and 2004.

When this 121.05 billion naira revenue figure is added to the receipts (N1.413 trillion) reported by NEITI for 2007 to 2016, the total from 2001 to 2016 totaled N1.534 trillion.

The Art Of Climbing The Podium

“When you say a thing amidst the crowd, few people listen to you; but when you say same thing on the podium, everyone listens to you.” ~Russells Apuam Enogha

It is not the quality of your message per se, but it is the platform from which it is passed that determines the efficacy of your message.

You might have the best message, the most suited solution for a particular problem, but without the right platform to present such, attention will not be given to it.

You can't present such amidst the crowd. It's rare the right people will be listening.

You have to climb the podium.

US Congressman And Civil Rights Champion, John Lewis, Is Dead

In this file photo taken on February 27, 2013 Rep. John Lewis, D-GA, speaks during a press conference in front of the US Supreme Court on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. MANDEL NGAN / AFP

John Lewis, the civil rights warrior who died Friday aged 80, excelled at what he liked to call “good trouble” — standing up against racial injustice to forge a better United States.

The African-American icon marched with Martin Luther King Jr, was nearly beaten to death by police, and later as a sitting congressman was arrested multiple times for protesting genocide or leading immigration reform sit-ins.

Lewis was a sharecropper’s son whose fights for justice helped define an era, and whose moral authority as an indomitable elder statesman left a permanent imprint in Congress.

He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in late 2019.

“Today, America mourns the loss of one of the greatest heroes of American history,” House

Jada Smith

Singer, August Alsina has finally reacted to Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s viral ‘Red Table talk’ interview last week where Jada admitted she had a relationship with August when she and her husband Will Smith had separated.

The word “entanglement” went viral as Jada repeatedly used it to define what was going on between them, even as August has agreed to that.

While August claims he hasn’t watched the complete episode, he has now reacted to Jada calling their relationship an “entanglement.”

In a new interview with Vulture, Alsina said: “I don’t know why that word is such an issue. I

NDDC Probe: Reps C’ttee Chair, Tunji-Ojo on revenge mission, Prof. Pondei declares

Niger Delta can't breathe due to National Assembly's stranglehold — UNDEDSS

Head of the Interim Management Committee, IMC and Managing Director, MD, of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Professor Daniel Keme Pondei has declared that Hon. Olubuni Tunji-Ojo must recuse himself as the Chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta for them to make their presentation.

Pondei and his IMC team are facing a probe by the House Committee over financial recklessness to the tune of over N81 billion. They had failed to appear before the investigation panel on Wednesday, the first day of its sitting, citing a meeting at the Presidential Villa as a reason. When they finally appeared on Thursday, the second day, Pondei staged a walkout with his team, saying he was not comfortable with Ojo presiding over their presentation. In return, the House Committee issued a warrant of arrest on him.

But reacting exclusively to the developments, Pondei told Saturday Vanguard in Abuja on Friday, that removing Tunji-Ojo as the Chairman and constituting an adhoc committee will

11 Lessons I’ve Learned In The Last Decade That Can Help You Comeback Stronger

2010 - I dropped out of college with one semester left until I was supposed to get my degree. I honestly didn’t want to become a doctor. That was my parents dream for me.

Lesson #1: Don’t do things to win the acceptance and approval of the ones you love, even if it might disappoint them. Trust your gut.
2011 - Despite having only $47 in my bank account, I found a way to be resourceful and get $9000 to invest in a speaking and coaching program that would launch my career as a professional speaker and coach.
Lesson #2: You’re more capable than you think when you don’t have the luxury to be indecisive or immature. Pressure creates diamonds.

2012 - Despite all the doubt I had from people around me, I had a very successful start to my speaking career and went full-time with over 40 paid speaking engagements around the US.
Lesson #3: Everyone will have an opinion about your situation. Don’t let them get to you. It’s your job to let your actions speak louder than your words. Walk your talk.
2013 - I finally found and reunited with my birth mom in Thailand after two decades of being separated. Shortly thereafter, we had a really bad falling out. I felt like a failure.
Lesson #4: Some people come into your life for a season. Others come into your life for a reason. Whatever happens, believe everything happens for you through you for a reason.
2014 - I invited my dad to come to my wedding after I proposed to Kate, my high school girlfriend, on our 10 year anniversary. He chose not to come because it wasn’t going to be a Muslim wedding. Shortly thereafter, he disowned me because I wasn’t religious enough for him.
Lesson #5: Stop walking on egg shells pretending to be someone you’re not. It’s exhausting and isn’t fair to anyone involved. Live your truth.
2015: After the wedding, I went through a deep depression. I felt worthless. That’s when I decided to make healing my trauma with different forms of therapy and bodywork a major priority.
Lesson #6: Thanks to my parents, I’ve learned how to love myself. Just because someone is incapable or unwilling to love you, doesn’t make you unlovable.
2016: I had my most successful but most stressful year as a speaker with over 120 paid speaking engagements around the world. I realized this wasn’t the right business model for me if I wanted to build the family I never had. I had to switch it up.
Lesson #7: Figure out the right business model to become the best role model for others. Success is meaningless if you sacrifice the ones you love on your journey.
2017: I stopped speaking to high school and college students and invested over $50,000 that year into my own education through various mentors. I also fell in love with sales.
Lesson #8: If you’re going through some form of career transition, invest in yourself financially by finding proven mentors who can collapse time for you. Selling is serving.
2018: My daughter Kaiya was born, I did a 365 video-a-day challenge and helped my clients collect over $5,000,000 in less than 12 months through my social media experiment.
Lesson #9: Show up. Give yourself permission to be imperfect in public. Even if you don’t know what to say or how it’s going to look like... that’s okay. Express first. Edit last.
2019: Kate and I found out we’re having twins. We also moved into a beautiful mansion to raise our growing family. My best friends work for me full-time now. And I have the best clients I could ever ask for fly to come visit me to help them grow their business and spread their message.
Lesson #10: You’re the author of your own story. Your life is a byproduct of what you see for yourself. Dream big, do the work and trust the process.

2020: My twins, Taj & Amira were born. The Pandemic took the world by storm. Our economy has shifted dramatically. Millions of people have lost everything they've worked hard for and have been forced to pivot.

Lesson #11: Before a seed can become what it's destined to be, it must grow through the dark and dirty soil to eventually see the light. 2020 is still the year of perfect vision. Plant the seeds of your future now. You'll be surprised what you can achieve in just a decade.
What lesson was the most impactful for you and what can you teach us from your last decade to help us all comeback stronger together?👇

17 Excuses You Must Avoid To Succeed In Life

Most people are afraid to start because they are truly afraid to fail. The fear of failure make them give some unscrupulous excuses, like the ones below :

📌 1. Fear of unknown

📌 2. I don't have the money ( Who has?).

📌 3. I don't have any contacts to start with ( Really?).

📌 4. I'm not smart enough ( You have crown yourself as a mumu)

📌 5. I can't talk (Are you dumb?)

📌 6. I don't have the time ( Yet you have the time to wake up at 5am and get dressed to face the traffic)

📌 7. I'm too busy ( doing what exactly?).

📌 8. It takes too long to build a business ( But you envy Dangote)

📌 9. I'm afraid. Building a business is too risky for me ( is sleeping not risky, people have died in their sleep).

📌 10. I don't like dealing with people ( Mr Island... I greet you your Excellency)

📌 11. I'm too old. ( Colonel Sanders started @ 65yrs now KFC chicken is a worldwide brand)

📌 12. Waiting for all the lights to be GREEN. (lights turn green when you press the button)

📌 13. My husband, my wife, my parents don't support it ( They don't support you to be broke either but you are).

📌 14. My job is too demanding and I travel a lot. (Don't you travel with your mobile phone?)

📌 15. I'm not good at marketing. (Yet you are the king of forwarding unverified massages on WhatsApp and Facebook! Continue.)

📌 16. No, if it's networking, I can't do it. ( But you spread gossip yet can't spread a business that will better your life?)

📌 17. I'm not a professional. ( Who is a professional? We all learn networking by attending training and seminars). We do the do,move the move

Let's move together.

Be careful what you copy off social media and how you implement them

was running a successful ad campaign, I call it successful because it took less than 12 hours after kicking off the PPE campaign, I had already gotten over 3k impressions, 1.2k likes, shares and comments.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

My ad copy was FIRE. I remember showing the ad copy (video) to my Direct Responce coach and he kept shouting Wow!⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Then when he saw the website (Landing pages) I created, he kept asking to be VERY SURE I created all those landing pages myself.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

LOL!⁣⁣

just LOL.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

He told me: Girl you are on FIRE.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Anyway, back to my gist...⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

In about 24hours of that PPE campaign, I got my first sale and this was still just an engagement campaign and not for conversion.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

That one sale covered everything I had spent on the ad and still left me some profit.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

The second day, I kicked off the conversion campaign and it was doing well averagely too.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

The 1st and 2nd day into the conversion campaign, I would always make 3X my ad budget before 10am.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Then the copy copy mentality entered.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

I read something on one of my coaches timeline where he said he made XYZ amount in X days running on a 5dollar campaign budget.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Gbam!!!!⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

I thought to myself, if he could do it with 5dollars, then why can't I .⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Why spend more money 💵⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

So I went to edit my campaign and set it at 5 dollars and I also kicked off another campaign spreading out my entire budget into 5dollars campaigns.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

This was the 3rd day.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

9am passed... Crickets 🦗⁣⁣

⁣⁣

12pm passed... Nothing yet⁣⁣

⁣⁣

2pm.. Now I was getting worried.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

In case I forgot to mention, I am actively employed and work had been so hectic that I barely have time to look at my ads or anything till I leave work by 4pm.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Usually, for these first 3 days, all I did was do my work while my ad converts and my already set business on automation onboards the people who pay into the course.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

I don't have to bother about anything. If there's any special case, it'd have to wait till 4pm.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

This is the beauty of an automated business system.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Back to my gist, I got some breathing space at work and decided to do some research on the results I was getting.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

That was when I saw it.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Times are ever changing.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

The way a 5dollar ad converted in 2018, 2019 and 2020 is totally different.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

I was copying something that worked for my coach in 2018.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

2018!!!⁣⁣

2 friggin years ago.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

What the hell was wrong with me?⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

I already had a good ad, my budget was working well and making back 3x what I put in.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

My email list was growing like bread with excess yeast.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Why the hell did I now decide to change it?⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Then it hit me,⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

We are oftentimes more concentrated on other people's results rather than ours.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

We are always on the lookout for the next big idea without properly utilizing the one we have at hand.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH US.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

There's more to what you see on social media.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

In fact you are only seeing just what they want you to see.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Enough of the copying⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Do your own homework, try that idea out and watch it fail till it succeeds.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Make your previous experiences your future standard for failure.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Learn while you are at it.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Quit looking for the next big thing for your business, instead pay attention to what is currently happening in your business.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

This will take you off the copy copy street.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Let he who has ears hear.⁣⁣
