Wizkid & Drake : Honour Your Destiny

Aristotle once wrote, “To lead an orchestra, you must turn your back on the crowd”

So I'm here relaxing, enjoying some 'worldly music' at midnight instead of communicating with the spirits.

The hit song "Come Closer" by WizKid (ft. Drake) came on and I smiled as I had a thought.

In 2016, Drake featured Wizkid on his own hit song "One Dance".

The only peculiarity was that Wizkid was to play a small role on the track. His verse on "One Dance" was short and barely audible, but since that's what was asked of him, he did it.

We've all done different things, sometimes for free, just to build relationships with stronger forces.

However... in a land far away...

The mob on Nigerian twitter were busy joking and making memes about how a big artist like Wizkid was taking a small role on a bigger artiste's project.

The mob did what the mob always do... They had their laugh and moved on to the next trending topic.

The next year, Wizkid released his own track "Come Closer" and invited Drake to feature on the track... and it was an international hit.

Both Wizkid and Drake absolutely killed their parts... and it was a raving success.

The song was certified GOLD in Canada and SILVER in the United Kingdom... and I remember they had a joint performance at a sold out crowd at the O2 arena in the UK.

The mob? Predictable.

Of course they hailed him to high heavens and danced to the tune.

My message here for part of 2018 was "Selective Deafness"... and if you must do anything worthy of note, you must acquire it.

What people say or think about your moves, in their limited understanding... is not your business.

The only thing that matters is your plan.

The mob is fulfilling their purpose... in the comments section of life.

Fulfil your own purpose.

Aristotle once wrote, “To lead an orchestra, you must turn your back on the crowd”

The only thing that matters is your plan.
Honour your destiny.
Stick to your plan.
