THE MAN WHO CHEATED DEATH SEVEN (7) TIMES. DEATH KEPT LOOKING FOR HIM, BUT WAS ABLE TO DODGE IT EACH TIME.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet FRANE SELAK, the man who says to death, "Not just yet".
1. It so happened that Selak was riding a train through a cold, rainy canyon and suddenly, the train flipped off the tracks and crashed in a river. Someone pulled Selak to safety, while 17 other passengers drowned to death.
2. The next year, during his first and only plane ride, Selak was blown out of a malfunctioning plane door and landed in a haystack; the plane crashed, killing 19 people onboard.
3. Three years after that, a bus that he was riding in, skidded off the road and landed into a river, drowning four (4) passengers to death. Selak swam to shore with a few cuts and bruises.
4. Four years later, his car caught fire as he was driving and he managed to escape before
the fuel tank blew up.
5. Three years later on, in another driving incident, the engine of his car was doused with hot oil from a malfunctioning fuel pumps, causing flames to shoot through the air vents. Selak's hair was completely singed in this incident, but he was otherwise unharmed.
6. Twenty - two (22) years later, the same Selak was struck by a bus in his city, but sustained only minor injuries.
7. A year after that, he eluded a head-on collision with a United Nations truck on a mountain curve, by swerving into a guardrail, which gave way under the force of his car; he was ejected from the car when the door flew open, (he wasn't wearing a seatbelt) managed to hold onto a tree, and watched his car plummet down 90 metres (300 ft) into a gorge.
*To crown it all up for Selak, seven (7) years later, he won a lottery worth over a million US dollars with the first ticket he bought. With this, he purchased two houses and a boat. Selak gave the remaining money away to relatives and friends after deciding to live a frugal life, saying, "Money cannot buy happiness".
This is not a fiction, this is a real life experience.
Frane Selak will be 91 by June, still alive and well.
