Sometimes I want to just sit and cry, cry out blood for the many opportunities evading us as a people.
I want to cry for the ways opportunities were taken for granted in the past and for the way it has become near impossible for business opportunities to be grabbed by those working for it.
My cousin who relocated to the US two years ago was trying to call me on WhatsApp and I missed it. So, he tried calling my number directly. The image below was the warning he received. He was told the destination he was calling is unsecured. He was asked to press a number if he wanted to continue.
I was filled with so much emotion to light a village. I would not have been so emotional if I'd not in my life witness how people who were from a poor background took advantage of an international alliance to become persons of influence. So many people I know became a distributor of goods without putting down any money. That happened in this very existence of mine. Not anymore.
If young men and women who perpetrate internet frauds would know the consequences of their actions. If the bank officials aiding the wire transfer fraud would know the consequences of their actions. If the politicians who steal common patrimony would know the consequences of their actions they will all think twice before engaging.
I was to produce Mentor's Virtues Kit in the US, last year. I searched the net for a printing firm and one was interested. I sent in my design and specifications. Our correspondence was good. Then, I noticed that he was avoiding my calls and stopped responding to my email. I search to understand why. When I got to know it was because of where I was engaging him from, I sent him a nasty email which made him apologize.
Such is how opportunities fail here. There is also no certainty that things will improve. Trust me, I have made many strategic moves within my capacity to reform young ones in my locality who are actively involved in this heinous crime. The challenges are more than what we see on the surface. We have a wicked problem on our hands...ðŸ˜
