OMG : Trinidadian Carnival 2019 ๐น๐น๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ฝ๐ฌ๐น ๐น๐นIndigenous roots of Haiti - Arawak dance + Photos
The Indigenous people of Haiti are part of the Arawak/Taino culture which spread from Cuba to Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas. These people are decendants of the Olmec/Maya culture which was based in Mexico and spread across the Caribbean islands all the way to Florida and up to Georgia. Haiti was was also home to Caribs/Kalinago people who migrated from South America into the eastern islands of the Carribean, and who then were taken to
Central America by the English and currently are spread in Honduras, Guatemala and Belize.
The Carnival culture which is shared by all these cultures has its roots in fertility/harvest season festivals with roots in ancient Mexico....and was when they celebrated the beginning of the agricultural year... it is the same celebrations they had in ancient KMT which were later incorporated into christianity and now called "Easter" which is a so called"Pagan" celebration .... which actually has nothing to do with the death of Yeezus.. hence why people eat chocolate easter eggs and follow easter bunnies.. (who represent fertility)
Wether you're in Mexico, or New Orleans, Haiti, Trinidad, or Brazil.... Carnival came from the Indigenous cultures, and through paper genocide we were taught that these people were wiped out..but it is to the contrary as their culture is infact the basis for alot of our language, Spirituality, and culture in the Americas. In Haiti the Indigenous groups always open up the carnival..or as Haitians say "Kanaval"...
