IRDC SAGA : Court Exonerates Emami From Contempt Proceeding Instituted By Rita Lori, Six Others

Court exonerates Emami from contempt proceeding instituted by Rita Lori, six others
Chief Ayirimi Emami
Delta State High Court sitting in Warri, on Monday January 14 in suit number W/ 561/ 2016, struck out the name of Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami in the contempt proceeding instituted by the Igba of Warri Kingdom, Chief Rita Lori Ogbebor and six others, against Keystone Bank Plc as well as four others.

The decision of the court was reached after counsel to Chief Ayirimi Emami, Chief Robinson Ariyo (Esq.) called upon the court to strike out the name of his client, based on counter affidavit filed before the court, showing that Chief Emami" played no role whatsoever in the contempt of the code of court that was made on the 26th of
September 2017 and 20th of February 2018, restraining Chevron from dealing with the other respondents in the case".

The court will however continue the contempt proceedings against the other respondents in the case.

In a swift telephone chat, Chief Emami commended the court ruling and expressed joy "that this has again vindicated my position on the matter".
