Here are Mr Kennedy 5 nuggets for dealing with partners in Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Jordan and the rest of the Emirate countries...
1. Do not go for the first deal. The first deal is not always the best deal!
2. One introduction often leads to another. Allow yourself some spare time in your diary when in the UAE.
3. Do your research and due diligence on local partners/local actors/distributors.
4. Ensure you use a seasoned lawyer once you are at the point of negotiations.
5. Be very flexible: expect last minute confirmations and last minute cancellations. It is ok for your UAE host to be late for meetings but it is not ok for you to be late (Thank me later).
