You can be blessed by a generation younger than yours...
One prime mistake we make is to take for granted those following us. We see their drive, passion and energy as some fleeting exuberance - one that will pass away with time.
When the thoughts of their activity comes to mind we quickly bar their ability to succeed with this slogan, "they don't know life".
But surprisingly, the time we arrogantly in our minds allot them to quit comes and fades away with them not only standing, but succeeding in the venture they've focused their
passion on.
One thing we rarely do with those younger than us is that we fail to honour them. We think honour is to be sent upward to the captains and no one, two steps below us on the rung of achievement ladder should receive honour.
Honour is a principle, or better yet a key that unlocks the best in anything or anyone and in this case those looking up to us. Now do not think by honoring them I mean using the uppercase SIR and MA when chatting with them - "who Sir and Ma epp?"
By honour I mean have an usual faith, confidence, believe, and trust in them. Jesus regarded, not honouring a prophet to not believing in that prophet.
See every opportunity you have to counsel them, pray for and with them as a privilege to contribute to their success. And even when there's need to rebuke them (cause they sometime can be wonderful), see this as a duty given you to make sure they become the future you believe is theirs and theirs alone to become.
So again I say:
You can be blessed by a generation younger than yours only if you honour (believe in) them.
News flash!
If you don't believe in them, somebody most certainly will. That's why you see it as a priceless privilege when you are given the rare opportunity to mentor them.
To those following - those being mentored...
I'd like you to know that we honour and celebrate you. We understand sometimes life can be hard and confusing, well that's why we have the rare privilege of mentoring you not just by the words we speak but by the lives we by grace live.
I say to you, keep your passion hot, for passion unlocks powers never before seen.
2018 is your year
Peace.
