WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE BY THE ( ITSEKIRI NATIONAL FORUM ON THE ITSEKIRI POSITION ON THE QUEST FOR RESTRUCTURING OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA HELD TODAY 12 OCTOBER 2017.

We the itsekiri Ethnic nation of Nigeria , constitute a significant minority whose homeland is endowed with abundant Natural Resources , including oil, Gas,Marine and solid minerals contribute a Significant percentage of the revenue of the Federation. We make bold to say the itsekiri Ethnic Nation within the Nigerian Natìon State.

Given our undeniably robust in the economy of Nigeria , we cannot but be particularly concerned over the present socio-political arrangements which have been patterned not to take cognizance of our

contributions including rewarding us accordingly.

As people who have long been inherently disadvantaged by the present Nigeria's scio- political arrangements in spite of our contributions to the Nation's purse, we cannot but be concerned and naturally add our voice to the patriotic call for the restructuring of the federation such that any ethnic nationally ( irrespective of their demographic status) that immensely contribute to the Nation economic resource should accordingly be rewarded in relatio to their contributions.

As a major contributor to the economy and as citizens of this country who are witnesses to the past and present developments in the country, we have reflected on economic, political and social development of this country: nothing the opportunities that exist in the country and the problems that have bedeviled this country ranging from corruption nepotism, insecurity to injustice just to mention a few, we resolved to contribute our ideas for true peace.

Towards this end, we shall remain committed to partnering with other ethnic nationalities Leaders of thoughts, Groups and civil society organizations in Nigeria who share the same aspirations and Visio for a United and peaceful Nigeria with strong Democratic Institutio , and to contribute constructively to the discuss at all level to establish the Nigeria envisaged by the founding fathers of this nation.
