A protest has engulfed the Olu of Warri's Palace, this morning when some group of Itsekiri Youths and Adults, came out in their numbers to barricade the palace gate on the issues of conferring the "Ologbotsere" Chieftancy  title to a Chief in the the palace called Chief Ayiri Emami.

According to our correspondent, the Ologbotsere is the Prime Minister and the King only confers such title to a person who is worthy of such title and position and one of such

person is the Chief Mayuku of the Dudu branch of Obonteghareda from Koko and he was the first Inspector General of Police in his time.

Another Correspondent, said the the Ologbotsere issues has been settled by the Ologbotsere family and as such this issues should be not be debated or discussed in public. His point being that title is conferred on families and not individuals.

The title of the Ologbotsere and that of the Iyatsere, Uwangwe, Ojomo, Oshodi and some few others are paramount titles that belongs to families in Warri Kingdom. The Ogiame usually gave the families who are the owners of these titles the sole right to nominate and present up-to three candidates for these titles and this is the prerogative of the family involved only, and no other group or family in Warri Kingdom has the right to interfere. Once the affected family make their presentation to the King, that ends their rights of involvement in the issue as the sole prerogative of selecting one prime candidate among those presented by the family rest totally and absolutely on the Ogiame.
