NDDC (EDP Slot): On The Law We Stand - Ariyo Robinson

Abuja: Warri based lawyer and APC Candidate, Barr. Robinson Ariyo is furious with the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Delta State , of their choice of candidate for the NDDC (EDP Slot) as he made this statement "on the law we stand" and he is asking the party leaders in the All Progressive Congress (APC) Delta State, to respect the Law.

"Please tell Olorogun Otega Emerho and Prophet Jones Erue and those in their support that S. 5 (2) of NDDC Act read together with S. 14 (3) and (4) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended is what we stand on.
Section 14 (3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended which states:
“...need for national unity, and also to command national loyalty, thereby ensuring that there shall be no
predominance of person from a few states or from a few ethnic or sectional groups in that Government or in any of is agencies”
S. 5 (2) of the NDDC ACT provides inter-alia that;
“where a vacancy occurs in the membership of the Board, it shall be filled by the appointment of a successor to hold Office for the remainder of the term of Office of his predecessor, so however, that the successor shall represent the same interest and shall be appointed by The President, Commander-In-Chief of The Armed Forces subject to the confirmation of the Senate in consultation with House of Representatives”.
We cannot interpret this outside the provisions of the Constitution as any contradiction is null and void to the extent of its inconsistency?
On the law we stand!"
