Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo tells BT Sport: "The penalties are always a lottery, you never know what will happen but our team showed more experience and we showed it by scoring all the penalties. A fantastic night for us.
"It is the end of the season and people are not fit, we have to rest and we have to go for the Euros."
Atletico players are getting their medals now. None of them are looking enthused, as you'd understand.
Substitute Thomas Partey's mood is not matching his name as he gets his.
Real Madrid's players do a guard of honour as Atletico's players go up to get their runners-up medals. Some of the Atleti players are in tears.
They've got no trophies to show for another great season.

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale tells BT Sport: "I can't feel a lot, I am cramping up. What an amazing feeling, in extra time we showed resilience, what we are made of and winning the 11th.
"The boys gave everything, the club, the fans have been amazing on this journey and deserve it.
"Atletico gave it a great game and we feel a little bit sorry for them but you have to win a final.
"Some of their players were struggling but we tried not to show it too much. I was nervous after the penalty, not while taking it.
"We [Wales] will be going for the European Championship title now."
Atletico Madrid are the club that have played the most European Cup finals without winning any.
This is the third season in a row that someone in their first season as a Champions League manager has reached the final.
In 2014, it was Atletico boss Diego Simeone, who lost to Real.
Last year, Barca boss Luis Enrique beat Juventus.
And now Zinedine Zidane, who only took charge of Real Madrid in January, has beaten Atletico.
