UK Police issue statement over officer hitting Nigerian man with baton at London train station

The UK Police have issued a statement over the video that went viral of an officer hitting a Nigerian man with baton at St Pancras Station. A spokesman for British transport police said:
We have been made aware of a video on Facebook showing BTP officers detaining a man at St Pancras station on Tuesday, March 8. Officers attended the station following reports from staff of fare evasion, and a man, aged 40 and from Thamesmead, London was subsequently arrested on suspicion of fare evasion and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH).
The man has since been released on bail.
