Inside Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s Disney-Themed Baby Show

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are marking a magical time with a magical celebration.

As the married couple counts down the days until the Poosh founder gives birth to their first child together—and fourth for each, they spent time with their loved ones at a Disney-themed baby shower.

As seen in photos the Kardashian-Jenner family shared Sept. 24, Kourtney wore a snakeskin-printed catsuit to the party, which was planned by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss and held at a private residence in the Los Angeles area. Both she and Travis sported Mickey Mouse ears.

Khloe Kardashian was accompanied by her kids, True Thompson, 5, and Tatum Thompson, 14 months, who were seen playing together. The Good American founder shared many photos and videos from the bash, while Kim Kardashian and her eldest daughter North West, 10, shared their own clips on their TikTok.

“What is this, a photo booth, Mama?” Khloe said to her daughter, as seen in a video the Good American founder posted to her Instagram Stories. “Oh, we have to do this together. You, me and Tatum, let’s go.”

Airbit enhances beat marketplace for creators

Airbit boasts a catalogue of more than a million beats from notable and emerging producers from around the world. To date, creators around the world have earned over $50m on Airbit, with over 2 million beats sold, according to the company.

The new changes include the removal of commissions and the enhancement of features in the free Basic plan, with the goal of ensuring more profits go directly to artists.

All seller commission fees, previously up to 40%, have been reduced to 0% on its marketplace. This change, coupled with the existing 0% buyer service fees, allows producers to keep a higher portion of their earnings from the Airbit marketplace.

The Basic tier now allows users to upload up to 20 beats to their marketplace profile (up from 10), automatically share beat videos on social media, and unlock free downloads through social engagement.

“Airbit has always been committed to empowering creators by providing them with everything they need to advance their artistic freedom and success in today’s competitive music industry,” a statement reads. “This mission was further strengthened through its acquisition by BandLab Technologies earlier this year.”

“We are excited to introduce these changes that set the stage for an even better Airbit experience,” Airbit founder and CEO Wasim Khamlichi said. “By removing marketplace commissions, we are providing tools for producers and creators to focus on what truly matters  –  reaching their audience and delivering exceptional music.”

Meanwhile, Airbit has introduced integrations with social music creation platform BandLab, with a user base of over 60 million, to expand its reach to a broader audience of creators.

“We firmly believe that creators and rights holders should be able to diversify their presence across multiple platforms to truly harness their revenue potential,” BandLab CEO and co-founder Meng Ru Kuok, said. “This is just the beginning , we’re excited to roll out additional features in the upcoming months to ensure our community of creators is poised for unprecedented growth and success.”

Why Lindsie Chrisley Blocked Savannah & Siblings Over “Bulls–t” Drama

https://ift.tt/nkEV4tN

Lindsie Chrisley just spilled the southern tea on her family drama.

The Chrisley Knows Best alum didn’t mince words when it came to addressing her half-sister Savannah Chrisley‘s recent appearance on The Viall Files. On the podcast, Savannah claimed that mom Julie Chrisley had “always treated” Lindsie and her brother Kyle Chrisley—who are dad Todd Chrisley‘s kids from his previous marriage to ex Teresa Terry—as “if they were hers,” but the two older kids “didn’t necessarily treat her the same.”

However, according to Lindsie, the 26-year-old has no right to pass judgement.

“It shows just a complete lack of empathy,” the 34-year-old remarked on the Sept. 21 episode of her Coffee Convos podcast, “but also a lack of awareness that you didn’t have parents that were divorced.”

Lindsie explained that Julie “could have hung the moon, but she still wasn’t my mother.”

“I still had exposure to my mother and I still had all of those traumas before they were ever even born or brought into the picture,” Lindsie said of Savannah and Todd’s sons with Julie: Chase, 27, and Grayson, 17. “And so, it’s easy to sit and say things without having true life experience.”

3 Members of K-Pop Group Stray Kids Involved in Car Accident

https://ift.tt/zUOpMST

Three members of Stray Kids are on the road to recovery following a car accident.

Lee Know, Hyunjin and Seungmin of the popular K-pop boy band sustained “mild muscle pains and bruises” on Sept. 20, when their vehicle was involved in a minor collision while en route back to their dorms, according to their agency JYP Entertainment. The trio were taken to a local hospital following the incident, where they received a thorough medical examination.

While neither the singers or their accompanying crew members were seriously hurt in the accident, Lee Know, Hyunjin and Seungmin have been advised by medical professionals to “receive conservative treatment for the time being,” the label said in a statement shared in Korean and English. As a result, Lee Know and Hyunjin will not be making an appearance at Milan Fashion Week, while Seungmin’s birthday stream on Sept. 22 has been canceled.

In addition, the octet—which also comprises of Bang Chan, Changbin, Han, Felix and I.N.—will not take part in New York City’s Global Citizen Festival on Sept. 23. Instead, the group will be replaced by 3Racha, Bang Chan, Changbin and Han’s hip-hop group in which they perform under the names CB97, SpearB and J.One.

Lorde Shares “Hard” Life Update on Mystery Illness and Heartbreak

https://ift.tt/WPEzZk9

Lorde is giving herself the green light on a new life change.

In a recent newsletter to fans, the “Ribs” singer shared that she stopped taking the medication she’s had for the past decade.

“The little yellow pill I took every morning for thousands of mornings since I was 15, I stopped taking it 5 days ago,” Lorde wrote in her Sept. 20 message. “Gonna see how it goes.”

The decision, Lorde said, comes amid ongoing health issues that have plagued her this year.

“My body is really inflamed, it’s trying to tell me something and I’m trying to support it but nothing seems to help and I get frustrated,” the 26-year-old shared. “My gut isn’t working properly, my skin is worse than ever, I’ve gotten sick half a dozen times.”

Lorde then got candid on her relationship with her body, noting that she felt like she had previously neglected it.

WNBA playoffs: Wings stomp Dream for 1st series win since move to Dallas

Dallas officially has its first WNBA playoff series win. It took five tries.

The Dallas Wings got over a long-standing hump Tuesday with a 101-74 win over the Atlanta Dream, clinching a 2-0 first-round win and the franchise’s first series win since moving to their current city in 2016.

All five Wings starters scored in double digits, as did reserves Awak Kuier and Kalani Brown. Arike Ogunbowale, naturally, led all scorers with 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting, 2-of-4 from deep, plus seven assists and two rebounds. Center Teaira McCowan had a commanding double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds, plus two blocks.

The Wings previously lost four times in the first round, getting bounced by the Washington Mystics in 2017, the Phoenix Mercury in 2018, the Chicago Sky in 2021 and the Connecticut Sun last year. They didn’t win a series during their time as the Tulsa Shock either, so it’s their first advancement since moving from Detroit in 2010.

It clearly meant a lot to the team, most of all to first-year head coach Latricia Trammell, who was visibly tearing up on the sideline as the final minutes ticked away.

Dallas Mavericks greats Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd were both on hand for the occasion.

The Wings’ reward for their breakthrough? A few dates with the top-seeded, defending champion Las Vegas Aces, who swept the Chicago Sky with 22- and 28-point wins after going a WNBA-record 34-6 in the regular season.

Wings ran away from Dream in second quarter

The two teams went back and forth in the first quarter, with neither taking a single lead of more than three points. That changed in the second quarter.

Early in the next frame, the Wings ripped off a 20-3 run to take a commanding lead, running into halftime with a 52-34 lead they would never relinquish.

The Dream cut the lead to 13 points early in the third quarter, but that was the closest they would ever get. They had a much better opportunity to steal a win in Game 1 but let a 20-point lead slip away.

The series loss ends the Dream’s first playoff appearance since 2018. The team took a step forward this season with a 19-21 record, but the last two games show that the squad still has a ways to go while building around 2022 first overall pick Rhyne Howard.

Bachelor’s Clayton Echard Served With Paternity Lawsuit

Clayton Echard is facing a paternity lawsuit.

The Bachelor star is being asked to take a paternity test by a 33-year-old podcaster from Scottsdale, Ariz., though he denies they had sexual intercourse, according to court documents obtained by The Sun and Page Six.

The woman, who chose to keep her identity anonymous, filed the lawsuit on Aug. 1, alleging that she is pregnant with twins after engaging in “sexual activity” with Echard on May 20. The twins, the woman said, are due in February 2024.

The woman said that she “hadn’t been with anyone since March of 2022” and that Echard, 30, broke things off the morning after their alleged night together, per the docs obtained by The Sun. She said she sent Echard copies of her pregnancy results, alleging that he didn’t believe her and said they only had oral sex.

Her court filing also includes screenshots of alleged texts from the reality star, including the messages, “I don’t believe you for a second,” “I legitimately hate you right now,” “You have lost your mind and I hope YOU think about how terrible this is that you would subject me to this” and “My personal hell would be having to have you be a part of my life,” per Page Six.

Disney’s Matthew Scott Montgomery Shares Conversion Therapy Experience

https://ift.tt/YAhjGec

Matthew Scott Montgomery is ready to share his story.

The actor—best known for his role as Matthew Bailey in the Sonny With a Chance spin-off So Random!—opened up about his coming out journey as a gay man. Having grown up with “very, very conservative” parents, Matthew said that he spent most of his younger years hiding his authentic self, going so far as to attend conversion therapy during his days off from work as a Disney Channel star.

“No one knew,” he shared on the Sept. 19 episode of Christy Carlson Romano‘s podcast Vulnerable. “My castmates did not know at the time, so it was kind of a secret.”

Matthew went on to clarify that Disney “had nothing to do” with his decision to seek conversion therapy, but rather he agreed to it in response to his parents’ “nightmare” reaction to him coming out following his 18th birthday.

“You have to understand that in the environment that I grew up in, you’re taught that you deserve to be punished all the time,” he explained to Christy, who’s a Disney Channel alum herself. “At the time, the career stuff was going so well that I was like still in this broken prison brain of thinking, ‘I’m on red carpets. I’m on TV every week. This is too good, I should be punished on my days off.'”

Burna Boy’s FNB Stadium show postponed

According to Sunday World, the gig, which was set for 23 September, has been postponed until 16 December due to sound issues. A source from the planning team told the newspaper that Burna Boy had fired his sound team, resulting in the last-minute cancellation of the event.

“They had a problem with the company that offers them sound,” the source is quoted by the newspaper. “Burna Boy fired them on Monday night and they had to replace them with another company which does not have the required capacity to do the show.”

It also appears the show was facing attendance challenges, with suite tickets being discounted by 25% on various online platforms.

Meanwhile, Khanya PR and Media Solutions has announced its withdrawal from the concert, citing business interests and legal advice.

“We have, as an agency, elected to withdraw our services which have up to now included PR and social media management,” a statement reads. “We have, following consideration of our business interests and working through the necessary legal advice, come to the conclusion that it is in the best interest of all parties concerned that we cease our role in the event. We wish the organisers well in their efforts and journey towards the concert and their future projects.”

The concert would have formed part of the musician’s Africa tour in support of his widely successful new album I Told Them, marking the Grammy-winner’s return to South Africa after headlining DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival last year.

Burna Boy’s last few years have been characterised by a rigorous tour regimen, including headlining stadium shows. In June, this run saw him sell out the 60 000-capacity London Stadium in the UK.

Kenya: Questions abound as blank tape levy takes effect

According to a statement issued by the Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) this week, “the implementation of the blank tape levy will begin on 15 September 2023 in accordance with sections 28(3)(6) and 30(6) of the Copyright Act and the second schedule part B of the Copyright Regulations 2020.”

A private copying levy is a nominal fee imposed on the sale of blank media and devices such as CDs, DVDs, USB drives and smartphones, which can be used to make personal copies of copyrighted content. The levy is payable at the point of entry to the country or at the point of first manufacture locally.

This levy is imposed by the copyright law to compensate copyright holders for potential revenue lost when individuals make private copies of their copyrighted works such as music, films or software. Private copying allows individuals to make personal backups or copies of copyrighted material for their own use, such as making a backup of a music CD or copying a movie to a personal device.

The concept behind the levy acknowledges that people often copy music, films or other copyrighted works for their personal enjoyment, creating a potential loss of revenue for creators and copyright holders. Therefore, it seeks to strike a balance between personal use and fair compensation of creatives for the use of content without explicit permission.

However, questions abound on how exactly the collected royalties will be distributed and how rights holders will be classified. While a similar mechanism has been implemented successfully in developed markets, it remains to be seen how this can be replicated in Kenya.

Players in the Kenyan cultural and creative industries, especially those in the music sector, are concerned that poor regulatory frameworks may deprive artists of the much-needed funds.

While expanding the royalty collection is something they welcome, experts fear a lack of solid institutional mechanisms at Kenyan collective management organisations (CMOs) may defeat the purpose of the levy.

Nairobi music lawyer Robert Asewe is worried that just has been the case with royalties’ distribution, the Kenyan artist is likely to be shortchanged again.

“My biggest concern is that we are introducing this when we have not put our house in order,” Asewe told Music In Africa. “Kenyan CMOs operate on goodwill and not by express provisions of law. There are many grey areas here and if this is not anchored in law, then we are going to experience the same scenario where it is difficult to account for the distribution of the money collected.”

Asewe believes this concern is the reason a case was filed at the High Court in Nairobi on 13 September seeking to block KECOBO from releasing the funds collected from the blank tape levy to CMOs.

However, the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) CEO Ezekiel Mutua has welcomed the implementation of the levy, saying it is a sure way to ensure artists earn from their work.

Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts Ababu Namwamba is also optimistic the funds will be put to other good uses apart from paying out the artists, including establishing facilities such as digital content creators’ academies which will upskill creatives.

Namwamba added: “We are revamping the exercise of royalties’ collection because that is where the problem is. We are implementing a system that will help us collect the royalties digitally.”

Khloe Kardashian Recreates Britney Spears’ 2003 Pepsi Interview Moment

It’s Khloe, bitch.

On Sept. 15, Khloe Kardashian posted a TikTok showing her recreating a viral moment from one of Britney Spears‘ past interviews, which had aired on CNN in 2003.

Wearing a short, blond wig, the Good American founder, as well as hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimons and makeup artist Ash K. Holm, lip-sync the singer’s answers to questions that Tucker Carlson—who worked for the cable network as a commentator at the time—asked her about her consumption of Pepsi amid her promotional deal with the company.

“I really do like Pepsi,” Britney had said. “I really do.”

When asked what is her favorite kind of Pepsi, the pop star replied, “My favorite kind of Pepsi? Pepsi’s Pepsi.”

Tucker then asked, “You don’t drink Diet Pepsi?” and Britney responded, “No, just regular Pepsi.”

The interview moment has gone viral several times, including in 2021, the year the singer’s conservatorship was terminated after 13 years and after a New York Times documentary examined both the battle to “Free Britney” and the longtime media scrutiny of the star throughout her career.

Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix could be the day where Max Verstappen’s win streak comes to an end.

Verstappen was knocked out of qualifying in the second round on Saturday and will start 11th. It’s his worst starting position since the third race of the 2022 season.

Verstappen is looking for his 11th consecutive win after setting a Formula 1 record with his 10th straight win in the Italian Grand Prix. Red Bull has won a series-record 15 consecutive races dating back to the 2022 season finale as Sergio Perez has won the two races Verstappen hasn’t so far this season. Perez also failed to get out of the second round of qualifying.

Carlos Sainz will start on pole for the second straight race. Sainz put his Ferrari on pole at Monza ahead of Verstappen and barely beat out Mercedes’ George Russell and his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc for the top spot on Saturday.

Ferrari and Mercedes appear to be the fastest teams so far this weekend. Red Bull looks to be struggling for corner grip at the revamped Singapore circuit. Sainz and Leclerc have consistently posted the best single-lap times throughout practice while Mercedes’ Russell and Lewis Hamilton appear to have very good long-run pace.

Mercedes is the last non-Red Bull team to win a race. Russell won the Brazilian Grand Prix a season ago ahead of Hamilton. The seven-time champion is looking for his first win since 2021 after going winless a season ago. He starts fifth behind McLaren’s Lando Norris in fourth. McLaren added upgrades to Norris’ car ahead of the weekend and he’s been consistently quick alongside the Ferraris and Mercedes cars.

The first qualifying round ended under a red flag for a hard crash by Lance Stroll. He was pushing to advance to the second round and lost control of his car at the end of his lap and his car slammed into the wall.

Ice-T’s Reaction to Daughter Chanel’s School Crushes Is Ice Cold

Ice-T is keeping his cool when it comes to parenting.

The Law & Order: SVU star said he didn’t break a sweat when his and longtime wife Coco Austin‘s daughter Chanel went back to school this year. In fact, his reaction to the 7-year-old, who he described as a “spark plug,” crushing on one of her classmates was as cold as ice.

“We’ve already discussed boys and stuff,” he told E! News’ Francesca Amiker, joking, “I’ve already shown her the graves I’ve dug in the backyard for the little boys who make her cry, so she already knows what’s happening.”

And since his little girl knows her “daddy is a gangster,” Ice-T—who has partnered with Sanofi to spread awareness about the flu vaccine—admitted that Chanel “doesn’t want to talk to me about boys.”

“She had a little crush in the first grade,” the 65-year-old shared. “We teased back and forth. It’s not serious yet.”
