Politics : PRESS STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOME OF THE SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT.

The Supreme court affirm the decision of the lower court which stated that it "lacks the jurisdiction to entertain the case in the first place". The case has revealed only one fact. The Warri South West Local Government headquarter as gazetted by the Federal government in 1996, is clearly and boldly written as OGIDIGBEN in Ugborodo and NOT OGBE IJOH. We will henceforth not participate in any elections conducted in a place which the Federal government never gazetted as the headquarter in the first place.

Therefore, since what the Federal gave out was Ogidigben, what Ibori did was a fraud because the State government lacks the constitutional power to relocate a local government headquarter which he has no power to create in the first place.

Henceforth, we shall not participate in any elections that INEC conducts in Ogbe Ijoh. We can not continue to give credence and legitimacy to a system that is been used illegally to deny our people of their rights.

All Itsekiri politicians from the position of councillor to the Senate should take note of this as we have all resolved to personally make sure this new directive is adhered to by all Itsekiri people.

The Federal government gave Ogidigben as the official and gazetted headquarter of Warri South West local government area. There is therefore NO NEED going to court anymore for a place that belongs to us in the first place.

Ogidigben is the recognised headquarter. The Federal government, INEC, all Itsekiri politicians both elected and appointed, all Itsekiri local government workers in Ogbe Ijoh, the Delta State government should take note of this notice.

All local government workers especially those of Itsekiri extraction are hereby mandated to resume in Ogidigben immediately..
