Being an emcee is more than just talking on the microphone and It takes your mental and physical strength into consideration. Dawan Ejomah or DaOne as she is popularly known threw some light on the requirements needed to being an emcee.

She said, 

A true MC does more than just announcements, his or her role includes:

Liaising with client(s) to make them comfortable before and on the day of the event

Liaising with the event planner to ensure seating arrangements are in order


Creating an atmosphere with the crowd to set the mood for a party especially if it's a wedding

Remaining sober to make sure all guests and clients are happy without problems

Finding solutions to any issues that comes up

As you can see there is a lot more to emceeing than just talking on a microphone. So before you ask your friends or relatives to be your MC seriously consider if they are able to fulfill the above requirements.
